Weekend

Not much happened this weekend, but I'm still blogging! We had stake conference this weekend and it was so awesome. Chad and I got a sitter on Friday night so we could go to the temple. It was CRAZY busy. We had a temple worker come into the room and say Provo is the busiest temple and they had never seen a night like that. We were standing in line in the cafeteria at one point. So cool. The only pictures I got were of Gracie taking Roxy for a walk on sunday, and the kids at jumping jacks. Enjoy!

Lost

Two days ago, I was on the phone with a friend of ours discussing adoptions from Haiti. We were having quite the intense discussion so I went up to my room to escape the noise of my two children. I could hear Mikey downstairs playing on his little fourwheeler. I kept one ear open to the sounds of my kids so I would know if anything happened. I looked at the clock and realized I had been on the phone for nearly an hour so I thought I better get off the phone and tend to my kids. As I was winding down my phone call I noticed I couldn't hear the fourwheeler anymore. I quickly ran downstairs and started looking for Mike. I coudln't find him. I ran upstairs, no Mike. I ran outside, no Mike. I got off the phone and started to panic. I ran outside into Chad's office and told him and Chandler I couldn't find Mikey. We quickly took off in all directions around the house. I ran to the neighbors house and started yelling for Mikey while I was banging on their door. When no one answered I headed back to the street dialing 911 on my phone. I saw a police car driving towards me and in my mind I thought "this.is.not.happening." Tears were streaming down my face as I ran to the cop car "Officer! I can't find my son!" The cop pointed out his window and as I looked down the street I saw the sweetest sight. Chad was holding a screaming Mikey with relieved look on his face. He was okay. There he was, sad but fine. I ran and grabbed him, ran back into the house while Chad talked to the cop, and sat down to assess the damage. Besides freezing feet, he was fine. He had pushed our door open and headed down the street. Chad found him nearly a block away standing in the middle of the road crying. Chad told me later, " I know this doesn't help, but Roxy didn't leave his side." Our sweet little dog knew that something was wrong. I learned a big lesson that day. I get so caught up in everyday life that I don't pay attention if my boy can push the door open. Or if he can get knives out of the drawer, or if he can climb in the car. It's time I wake up and BE THERE. That is a new years resolution. I urge all of you mammas to do the same. I have gone crazy thinking about the many ways that little "episode" could have ended. But it didn't. We are both fine, and I'm thankfully a little wiser.

To Anna:

Anna, this is Gracie's very first letter she has ever written. She did it ALL by herself with mommy's help with the heart.

Fort Staheli

I really don't have much to blog about, but it's a new goal to post "at least" once a week. Sooo here we go!!
I just had to post this. Cutsie little eyes.
So on thursday night I made chinese food and we thought it would be fun to build a fort and eat inside. The kids loved it.

Mikey of course ran around the whole time with a sword.

And my craft!! Kirsten Collins gave me a cute idea to make hair flowers. I bought the wrong fabric so it burned instead of melted, but I thought it turned out really cute.

Weekend in K town

Last weekend was my cousin Haydens farwell. We headed to St. George on Thursday morning to so we could go to the temple with him. It was so cool. I love going through the temple with people on their first time. We are so proud of him! Then Chad and I headed to Vegas for a little date night. It was so much fun. I can't believe how much we laugh when it is just the two of us. Then we headed to Kanab for the rest of the weekend. We are finally home for the next little while (thank goodness) I feel like I have been living out of a suitcase for the last month! It is really nice ot know that we don't have any major plans for the next little bit. There is just something about being home that feels so good. Also, these first pictures are a photo op I couldn't pass up:

The face of a little deviant
He found the baby lotion.

Clayton, training his third eye.

Elder Gant cutting his cake

While we were there Chad and I took the kids and Anna on a little hike. I couldn't help but take a gazillion pictures.

Anna kills me. She just sings. Always.

Yes that is my son. Yes he is licking a handful of dirt. He'll be alright. I did the same thing and look how I turned out! :)

Gracie gathering rocks for Grandma Lydia. Her and Anna kept saying "oh she'll love this one"

mmmmm

They made it to the top!
