He's ONE... Capitol O.N.E.

Sheesh!! It's amazing how much there is to blog about when you go a little while without blogging! This week was crazy!! Our computer is totally fried and we can't even get it to turn on to get it fixed. We are in the market for a new one but for now I'm just going to have to use Chad's work one! Chad and I had a wonderful Valentines day. We celebrated on Friday because we swapped children with the Gardners. We went to Outback and waited TWO HOURS for a table but it was soooo worth it by the time we got to sit down. I was going to send Chad on a little scavenger hunt on saturday but he ruined the surprise. So I just made us some "I love Chad" and "I love Candace" shirts and we just wore them all day. It was lot's of fun. Then on Monday Chad's sister Jen and her fam came to town so we went to the BYU museum for a little while. It was lots of fun and we had an even better time because it was free!! Grace and I went to Coraline on tuesday for our mommy daughter date.... lets just say it was a tad scary for the little one. She sat on m lap the whole time and was so scared to even stand by the display after the movie. I have to say, I kind of enjoyed it more than I should have because I loved that she would cuddle with me for two whole hours. That doesn't happen very often!! Then, last but not least, MIKEY turned ONE on Friday. I can't believe it.... he is a year old. I'm so greatful for modern medicine and even though he had a rough start he is happy and healthy today!! Here are some photos!!

This is Gracie at Coraline... I bribed her with treats to get a pic.

Gracie at the museum. They had a live snake and they let the kids touch it!

Mikey loved the bears

This is Riley and Gracie getting in trouble for touching the buttons

Chad has something against gettting me flowers for events... so he buys me potted plants so he feels like he gets his money's worth. One of the reasons I love him so much!

Gracie helping mommy make cookies on V-day!

So our next purchase is going to be a tv.. .Chad wants to make sure the wall can support it.. here he is drilling a "test hole"

Aaaand here he is realizing it wont hold.

I crack up at Gracies dance. All of the little girls are so petite and conservative.. then there is my Gracie.. wearing the biggest tu tu we could find.

Gracie, Me, and Dallin just playing around.

These are my two favorite gals hanging out at Mikey's party

YAY!Opening presents! (These pics are a little backwards)

Mikey LOVES ice cream.. so instead of a cake, I gave him a fatboy

I got all of the little kids a balloon and had a contest to see who could draw the best picture of Mikey on the balloon

haha, our good friends the Webb's came to the party and their little girl brooke (pictured below) had a little too much junkfood so she got sick and threw up all over! Her big bro was sitting right by her and it set off a chain reaction!!

I let the kids decorate their own cupcake's... this was Gracie's favorite part of the party

The decor.. I just hung up some rope and clothes-pinned some pictures of Mikey from the last year all over. It was way easy and turned out way cute. (I misspelled birthday... Chad pointed it out, I didn't even notice!)

Here are some of my favorite photos of Mikey from the last year. The good ones are from Sara, I wish she could be by my side all day just taking pictures of my kids...
I'm so greatful for my little boy. I know that he was sent here for a special reason and he is such a blessing to our family. I remember walking into the NICU when he was so tiny and right when I walked in the room I could hear him skwaking... He still does it, but now it's a lot louder. I love him so much and I hate that time is going by so fast!! I love you Big Mike!!

Experiencing Technical Difficulties

Hello blog followers!! So sorry to say the desktop is having some issues so I am unable to upload some pictures this post. Sorry Lydia! I'll send you some on the phone tomorrow! This week was lot's of fun. I LOVE holidays. I don't care which one it is, they are all fun and it is fun to look forward to something. Chad and I celebrated V-day (valentines not vetrans) on Friday so we could swap babysitters with our dearest neighbors. We had a gift card to Outback so we decided to go there. It was INSANE busy. We waited two hours for a table. It was forever but so worth it. Nothing beats a good steak. Anyways, more on v-day when I upload some pics. We got Gracie some new Ariel panties and some candy. I let her paint her own valentines box then we made some cookies. I haven't decided what tradition I want to start with her but I'm thinking the valentines box might be fun. She sure enjoyed it. Last week I had to go in and get a little cat scan for this lump I have in my neck. I think it's just a blocked gland but I have to get it biopsied on the third. It's no biggie, but that was fun to go do :( Chad is so good to make me feel at ease about these things. He is not a worryer, and I am, so we are perfect for eachother! Anyways, Sorry for the LAME-O post, but I hope to have the computer up and running tomorrow. TTFN....
Ta Ta For Now!!!

In a nutshell....

Okay, so for christmas, Chad's parents got us tons of meat from the family pigs. I am always looking for new recipes so I can cook it up. This one was definitely share-worthy.

1 pork roast
1 small jar of apricot preserves
1 envelope onion soup mix
1/2 bottle italian dressing
1/2 cup soy sauce

-Put the roast in the crock pot for 3-4 hours.
Cook all ingredients in a medium pan until apricot preserves are melted.
Drain meat.
Pour glaze over meat and cook for another 2 hours.

-cut meat and pour remaining glaze over meat. serve.
-I served it with mashed potatoes, rolls and salad. I have to say, WAY easy and way yummmm....(Excuse the photography)

Ahhh another week has passed. Lexie and I were just talking about how when we were younger days were SO long. We would wake up in the morning and what seemed like forever went by before you were climbing into the covers again. Man have things changed. I can't believe how fast the days go by. I have so much to do when I wake up in the morning and before I know it it's time to go to bed again. I'm so glad to have this last week over with. I already told you that my babies were sick but we are on the mend and I'm excited for a new week. We are still watching Mikey pretty close because he has good hours and bad hours. I think for the most part he is better. We went to the Gardners yesterday for a little snow-b-q for some yummy food and some fun games. I didn't get very many pics but we had a great time. After the party Chad and I took the kids for a little drive to Utah Lake but right when we got there we got out for a little breather and had to head back home because it was SO FREEZING. I'm itching for spring. I can't hardly stand it. Here's to anther week come and gone!! I miss my mamma. Come back Lydia.. the tv room is empty without you!

Tay and Austins boy Dallin. He could sweep the floor with those lashes.

da fellas.

YAY! We finally got Mikey a crib. His room is still a work in progress, but it's getting there!

Freezing cha cha's at Utah lake.

The AMAZING scenery I get to enjoy every day..
the lake aint too bad either.

M and D at the snow-b-q

Gracie's favorite thing to do it build forts with dad. They put them up then she sit's and watches movies.

That was our weekend.... In a nutshell.
