24th and Staheli Reunion

This last weekend we went to mirror lake for the Staheli family reunion. It was SO FUN... Besides having like 800 cousins for my kids to hang out with, we had a lot of fun activities planned. We did a lot of fishing, hiking, and eating-which I am the best at. We had talent shows, smores, three legged races, the whole deal. I love getting to spend time with family even tho it's not my own. That is one of the pluses of being married, you get more family to hang out with!! Thank you Staheli's for a wonderful weekend!!!

Ahhhh the Joys of Spanish Fork

So, I know I've said it before, but I love living in a small town. Spanish Fork is small town, but you are close enough to big city's that you can get what you need. And lets face it, a girl needs to shop. So I had no IDEA how big the 24th was in Spanish Fork. It honestly is amazing. The festivities are like a week long and there is so much fun to be had. Last week, we went to the park where they had games and yummy food. There was this thing called the fish rodeo where they put a bunch of trout in a man made pond and let the kids try and catch them. After it was over there were so many kids running around with 10 inch trout belly-up in a ziplock bag. I wasn't going to let Gracie do it because I knew she would get scared, but after she begged and begged I let her get in. She wussed out but the volunteer helped her. Our fish died in a matter of ten minutes... Rest in Peace Nemo.... anyways, that night we went to a flag ceremony where they burned the Macey's flag and they show the proper way to burn a flag. The men that helped with the service had just returned home from Iraq and it was really emotional. I was swelling with pride to live in such an awesome country. I'm proud to be an american!! Here is a re-cap of our week.....

So the rodeo is NUTS. and we live less than a block away from the fair grounds, and we have a TON of land, so I thought, why not make a buck?? $5 bucks for parking anyone??
Gracie and her friend Izabella got to ride the ponys. They LOVED it.

Then 3 others had to come help

Silly girls
Okay, so ya'll know that our house is ancient... well, last week when the Collins kids were at our house, Parker was in the basement with me and he said "Candace, have you ever looked in there?" (pointing to a small cubby in the wall) "no, why?" "well, there is like some instrument case in there or something" I proceeded to look at what he was talking about and found 2 winchester shotguns, dated in the early 1900's, 4 barrells, and a geiger counter (for radiation) Apparently the man who built our house was worried about the war so much that he built a fall out shelter in our basement and after he died, they must have forgotten about the shotguns!!Not to get to specific, but they are worth some billlzzzz....... ;)

So excited about the find~!
